 | | Asheville Courier owners Jenny and Robert Farmer hear it from people all the time, "I see your trucks everywhere." Who would have guessed in 1994 that what began as two guys on bikes would in such a short time grow into a business so well recognized on the roads of Western North Carolina?
On short runs and long hauls, Asheville Courier's drivers log hundreds of miles each day in their 12-vehicle fleet, including a 16-foot and 24-foot box truck, each marked with the familiar lightening bolt logo.
This brother/sister team bought Asheville Courier from its original owners in 2000, who began the business with the idea that deliveries would only be done by bicycle. However, the need for an efficient, reliable delivery service with a vast coverage area, was just what WNC needed. The operation soon expanded from a cramped downtown office to a 4000 square foot warehouse on Buxton Ave, just south of downtown Asheville. The move and their hard work have allowed the business to more than triple.
Robert and Jenny believe one of their biggest strengths is the ability to respond quickly to unscheduled calls, yet still offer reasonable rates.
